David Bowie's 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust' Gets 40th Anniversary Reissue

David Bowie's battleground 1972 album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, will be reissued in a appropriate 40th ceremony copy on June 5th. The record, which was Bowie's fifth and appearance such constant abstract as "Five Years," "Moonage Daydream," "Starman" and "Ziggy Stardust," will be presented in several formats, including CD, 180-gram vinyl and 5.1 mix DVD.

Produced by Bowie and Ken Scott, the anthology was originally issued on June 6th, 1972. Written during sessions for Bowie's 1971 anthology Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust was tracked at Trident Studios in London amid November 1971 and February 1972.

The seminal anthology included Mick Ronson (guitar, piano, abetment vocals, cord arrangements), Trevor Bolder (bass), Mick Woodmansey (drums), Rick Wakeman (keyboards) and abetment vocals on "It Ain't Easy" by Dana Gillespie. In accession to his vocals, Bowie was complex in the arrange and played acoustic guitar, saxophone and harpsichord on the sessions. While Ziggy Stardust would reside in abomination as Bowie's best-known onstage persona, the accompanist put the appearance to blow afterward his London achievement on July 3rd, 1973.
